As far as we can tell, the humans live on turtles. The earth is a turtle, and on the back of this turtle there is a turtle called turtle island. These two turtles seem to get along. However, there are a number of steam and diesel driven mechanical turtles causing untold destruction. A large number of humans live on the back of these industrial-colonial turtles, and there are even tiny unregistered-RV turtles parked in the creases of its face, which spring out and snatch tiny morsels as the mechanical turtle rends the world.
